Year 2 children have been busy developing their writing skills through the story Frog and the Stranger. They have been working hard to write a sequence of sentences, carefully ordering their ideas to retell events from the story. 3 Likes
Photos from Fairlands Primary School's postYear 6 have been learning about how computers communicate by sending data over in small packets. The children had to write messages and send them across our ‘routers’ for them to arrive at their given destination. They then had to work as a team to generate a given image by reading the data that they had been given. Lots of good teamwork Walnut class. 2 Likes

They have been busy exploring their new classrooms, getting to know their teachers and friends, and learning all about our school routines. They have already been showing us how independent they can be, listening beautifully, joining in with activities and having lots of fun while they learn and play. Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed searching for and then rubbing outdoor textures in our art lesson on Friday. We discovered a huge range of different feels in the nature. 5 Likes
Today, year 2 were so excited to have their first violin lesson! We met our music teacher, took part in music and movement, listened to our teacher play and learnt the part names of the violin. Finally, we plucked and used the bow. We already can’t wait for next week. 8 Likes

Our Facebook posts are changing... slightly! From today, we will only post pictures of children from behind, or side-view. This is in response to the evolving safeguarding concerns about inappropriate online use of images of children. Over time, we will be removing historical images which don't align with this approach. 12 Likes
Year 5 had a fantastic first session participating in the Mini Police program. They donned their high-vis uniforms and developed their questioning techniques, discovering facts and gathering evidence. They also began to learn how to use the phonetic alphabet to spell their names. It was great fun and they are eagerly looking forward to the next session! 2 Likes
